Welcome to the Stanford Storm Girls Field Hockey Program. Our mission is to grow field hockey in the Los Altos, Sunnyvale, Cupertino and Palo Alto region. We offer opportunities for Girls to play hockey at all levels and all ages. The Stanford Storm Hockey Program is grounded in the principals of honesty, fairness, character building/leadership and athletic development. All Athletes will learn hockey in an environment that is safe, fun and creative. The Girls program is prepared to develop girls to play hockey at the club level, high school level and collegiate level.

FAQ

Does my child have to have previous hockey experience to play with the Storm?

No, we accept all levels of players ages 6 to 19.

Is field hockey a dangerous sport?

Field hockey like any sport carries some risk. Players must wear protective equipment. A mouth guard and shin guards are required. Safety rules are adhered to and the coaches will correct dangerous play and teach safety principals for hockey.

Do the girls play with the boys?

Yes the girls do play with the boys. Scrimmages are played with all the older players. Teams will be matched up field coaching occurs so real time feedback is given to all players.

Is Storm club hockey required for the Homestead girls?

No it is not required that the Homestead girls participate in Storm hockey however this is the club team that currently available to the girls for off season practice. It is strongly encouraged that girls wanting to play field hockey at school have some exposure to the sport before season tryouts.

Is there private coaching available for my child?

Yes, private coaching can be arranged with Coach Keith or Coach Pappas.

If I refer another player to the club does my child get a discount of fees?

Yes if you refer another player to the club your child will get a $25 dollar discount on fees.
